two for one tuesday: pantry raid

i give up. i have gone back through other people's blogs for the last week or so and i can't remember or find who it was that i told i would do this pantry thing. i'm sorry! i wish there was something that kept up with where i left MY comments! ugh! i know i saw over at sprite's keeper that she did it, but i just started following her today, so i know it wasn't her. whoever it is, is a librarian i can at least remember that part! somebody, anybody, please tell me who that was! lol

so here are my pantry pics (there's 3 of em cause i have a lot of pantry with wasted space! i need to turn my, so deep that you can never see what's in the back, shelves, into slide out shelves like my mom has. they are wonderful!

oh, and you aren't allowed to straighten up the shelves either before you take the pic. i so should have cheated on that, but i didn't so you get to see me in all my unorganized glory. here they are:

the top half of my "real pantry":
the bottom half: (yes, i love peanut butter and have been known to eat it straight out of the jar..... frequently)

and this is another cabinet that i use for snacks and stuff: (yeah, i need to go shopping - not near enough snacks in here for my taste)

notice the little debbie german chocolate cookies are front and center and on the bottom shelf within easy reach for my shortness! oh, and the welch's fruit snacks were originally snacks for the g-kid but i have become addicted to them! they are pretty healthy as far as a snack: 100% daily vitamin C, made from real fruit (no preservatives), excellent source of vitamins A & E, ZERO grams of fat or calories from fat, and only 80 calories, and yet they still taste good!

not that i really care about any of that stuff for myself, but i would like to keep the g-kid a little healthy. oh, and the Cake Mix Magic in Minutes is an AWESOME recipe book that my mom got me for christmas. it has tons of recipes where the base is a box of cake mix and then you add all kinds of goodies to it to make it look like you slaved for hours to create it.

so, now i've shown you my pantry, will you show me yours?

  1. I'm not related to you, but I will leave a comment! What does it say about me, when I enjoyed looking at your pantry? Yikes.

I also enjoy baking with cake mixes as a starter. I did a bunch of cookies that way for Christmas.

Have to agree that Little Debbie snacks are heaven in a box.

  3. @ captain - is that something like poptarts...mmmmmmmmm ? lol

@ lisa - thanks! i like comments from non-relatives even more! (you're not obligated like they are, so it means more) and i don't know if that means you are just envious of my spacious pantries or really want to get your hands on them to straighten them out. you wouldn't be OCD would ya? hehe

@ terri - yes way! i wanna see yours, come on, you know you wanna ;) little debbie = heaven AND hell in a box

@ petra - how could you get hungry looking at my empty cabinets?? i know, you're thinking of all the stuff you would buy to fill them up. sounds to me like your one of them there sadomasic..sadomasok...sado oh hell you like to torture yourself! :)

  6. I too can eat peanut butter strait up.

I'm not sure I want to show my pantry. Not so much because it's messy but the opposite. I take enough grief about being overly neat and obsessive from my kids as is.

  7. @ momo - if that is what your pantry still looks like, then you are waaay more healthy than me! i'm not even sure if i know what all of that stuff was that you said you couldn't see :) my hubby says i could live on peanut butter, cheese, milk, and bacon. he's right too!

@ de-I - oh please, please show me your pantry! i won't tease you, even if it's all alphabetized! it might give me some good ideas on how to rearrange my stuff. plus it all falls into that weird curiosity of mine about other people's houses :)

  8. My pantry might reach out and eat me if I went in there with a camera. Too dangerous, sorry.

  9. I love my TWO large pantries. They are full to the brim. I live in the boonies and it is at least 20 miles to the store. I always teased that I was mormon because they want you to have six months worth of food at all times. I also have two refrigerators and 3 freezers. That is why I'm so fat we eat real good.

  11. @ mom - yeah, yeah, yeah stop bragging! and i think that should read that is why you are overweight because you eat so bad! lol i think me and sis are coming up there saturday

@ wayfaring - so you have pantry envy huh? just wait. i'll do a post of my mom's remodeled kitchen. mine will look like cardboard boxes compared to hers. i do love my cabinets, though. they were the single most expensive item in our house. i think they even cost more than the block work and pouring the concrete floor (it's a basement house-half underground)
